The Millennium ~ Envisioning the Rest of God ~ Part 2

Coming Soon: Curses Will Turn Into Blessings

In this article we will look at the many blessings that will replace the curses placed on Adam and Eve and their progeny when they sinned against God and chose to follow Satan rather than their Creator.

There are many, many prophecies that describe what the conditions will be like in the  Kingdom of God during the Millennium.

Again, we have to start at the very beginning to help us see the overall picture of what the prophecy of the Millennium is all about.

Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

In Genesis, Moses tells us that the world was recreated to be a beautiful habitation for Adam and Eve and for all the children who would come from them. God created the man and the woman to be in His image and then gave them a charge to manage and care for the rest of His creation.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

God created spectacular mountains and valleys, oceans, lakes and rivers and the land and sea animals. He also created beautiful gardens with luscious plants and fruit-bearing tress that would abundantly produce all the food that Adam and Eve (and all the living creatures) could want. And God said that everything was very good.

Genesis 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.  1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The man and woman that God created also had the special spiritual blessing of knowing God, being taught by Him and living in His presence; and being able to commune with Him probably whenever they wanted to. The world was a dazzling crown jewel and there were no curses, just blessings galore.

But when Adam and Eve chose to rebel against God that all changed. Last week we saw the curses that were placed on mankind and on the earth because of their sin, curses that have effected all who have ever lived and have wrecked havoc and misery upon mankind and the rest of God’s creation for six thousand years.

The planet earth today would still be an extremely marvelous place to live were it not for sin which is rebellion against God and His eternal spiritual laws (1st John 3:4). Without sin the world would be full of the glory of God with peace and harmony between individuals and nations along with security, happiness and abundant living.

There would be nothing but abundance, robust health, and happy families if the people on earth never went against God’s perfect law and way of living, and walked in all the ways that bring blessings, rather than the misery and pain that sin produces.

The world, as we know it, is full of the things that will not be a part of God’s Kingdom. Everywhere we look and everywhere we go, we see the “works of the flesh” manifested in some degree or another. As we all know all of the things listed in the following passage are very much a part of our world.

Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

But what if we could have a world where the fruits of the Spirit replaced the works of the flesh and all peoples on earth exemplified love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance? (Galatians 5:22-23).

The works of the flesh are a result of mankind living in rebellion to God and His laws which started with the disobedience of our first parents sinning against God’s command that they not take of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. As a result of Adam and Eve’s rebellion, God pronounced certain curses upon them and all their children who would come from them.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

When Jesus returns and takes control of all the kingdoms of this earth, He is going to usher in a reversal of these curses and the whole earth will be tremendously blessed.

God promises that in the coming Millennium there will no longer be a curse upon the earth. He is going to remove the curse and there is going to be a total healing of the nations and healing for those who repent of living according to the flesh and instead choose to walk with Him and receive His blessings.

Revelation 22:2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 22:3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

Many Scriptures from Genesis to Revelation talk of that time and give us a glimpse of what the conditions are going to be like. This week in “The Millennium – Envisioning the Rest of God, Part 2” we will look at some of the fantastic blessings that will be realized in the millennial reign of Christ; blessings that will replace the curses as we know them now in this present evil world.

Matthew 4:8-9 shows clearly that Satan is the ruler of this present evil world, but he retains that power only by God’s express permission during his allotted time. Also, Jesus calls Satan the prince of this world in John 12:31 (“prince” means ruler, chief – Strong’s #758 archón)

John 12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.

God has assigned Satan six thousand years in which he is to rule over mankind and to do his work within certain boundaries which God has set for him. When the six-thousand year period expires Christ will abruptly intervene in world affairs, return to earth, and re-establish the Government of God on earth. He will then rule as King of kings and Lord of lords for the next one thousand years. Thus God’s plan spans a period of a prophetic seven-day week since a day is as a thousand years with God, and a thousand years as a day.

2nd Peter 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

God gave the Sabbath to mankind and commands that we must not do our own labor on the seventh day of the week.  “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:  But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:” ( Exodus 20:9-10)

This is also symbolic for Satan, that for the first six days (six thousand years) of the prophetic week, God has allowed him to do his work and has given him free reign to influence and deceive; but on the seventh day (last one thousand years) the earth and all the nations will be given rest from Satan’s works.

Satan will be put away and for one thousand years the world will have peace; he will not be able to deceive or cause trouble until he is released from the bottomless pit at the end of those one-thousand years (Revelation 20:7).

One of Satan’s titles is “Deceiver” for that is what he does, just as he deceived Eve and everyone who has ever come from her and Adam.

2nd Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Satan is a pathological liar and and is the opposite of truth.

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Satan’s work is a labor of deception, of deceiving mankind and of turning them from obeying God.  He seduces humans to believe that God is not who He says He is and that there is no profit in serving the God of Creation.  Satan often comes disguised as an “angel of light” (2nd Corinthians 11:14) therefore he propagates false gods and false doctrines, and in effect turns God’s ways upside down, enticing people to accept a counterfeit belief system (in lieu of believing in and obeying God’s true Word) which deceives the people to live contrary to the ways of God with impunity. This is Satan’s “method of operation” by which he then leads men and women to death and destruction.

2nd Timothy 3:13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

Jude 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

As we can see, the god of this world has been very successful; he has been working hard at his occupation for nearly six-thousand years and that is why the world is in such a mess. He is a psychopath and has spread his cancer of perversion and diabolic policies throughout all cultures and nations; his corrupt ways dominate and have tainted all aspects of life and the whole earth has become polluted.

The end time “new world order” will be a culmination of his deception in his final attempt to take complete control of the world and do away with any vestige of God’s ways and God’s design for godly families. He has for almost six-thousand years been at enmity against God and also against Eve’s seed but during the tribulation he will be given power to vehemently stomp out the followers of Christ and those who keep God’s commandments.

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.  13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

One of the first things Christ will do when He returns will be to destroy the beast and the false prophet who are Satan’s puppets on earth, and then Christ is to going to proceed to take the veil of deception from the hearts and minds of all of humanity.

David prophecies of this when he prayed that God would send out His light and truth, to let God’s truth lead us to God’s holy hill and to His tabernacles: these things being symbolic of the millennial reign of Christ. God is going to universally send out His LIGHT and TRUTH to all the nations and the resurrected saints will help Him do it.

Psalm 43:1 Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation: O deliver me from the deceitful and unjust man [all those who are deceitful and unjust are influenced and backed by Satan]. 43:2 For thou art the God of my strength: why dost thou cast me off? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?  43:3 O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles. 43:4 Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto God my exceeding joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

When Christ returns to earth He will seize dominion from the arch-enemy who has deceived and swayed all of humanity since the days of Adam and Eve. At that time Christ will cast the devil into an abyss, thereby restraining him from interfering with the restoration process and the rebuilding of God’s Government on earth.

Presently Christ is in heaven at His Father’s right hand mediating and working on our behalf as our High Priest until it is time for Him to come back down and to take over the earth. It will be at that time that the momentous work of restoration begins. All the damage that mankind under Satan’s rule has perpetrated upon the earth and upon each other will be turned back, repaired, and the world will become clean, beautiful, functional; the people will come to love God and will begin to live His Way that brings peace, happiness, and abundant living in lieu of living Satan’s way that only brings about misery and death.

In Peter’s first sermon to the crowds that had gathered on the Day of Pentecost in 31 A.D., he describes a future restoration, a thorough on-going regeneration of all things spiritually and physically in every aspect of life.

Acts 3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

The Greek word for “times” is  chronos (Strong’s #5550) and means: “time, season. Of uncertain derivation; a space of time (in general, and thus properly distinguished from kairos, which designates a fixed or special occasion; and from aion, which denotes a particular period) or interval; by extension, an individual opportunity; by implication, delay — + years old, season, space, (X often-)time(-s), (a) while.” (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance)

Although in other verses this Greek word is often in the singular, in this particular verse the word is in the plural. Therefor “times” implies more than a one-time restoration, possibly an on-going restoration period or periods. From the context we see that Peter is referring to the seventh day Millennium; but we also know that the Main Fall Harvest of Humanity, which occurs after the end of the Millennium, is a time of restoration as well, of bringing back the billions of people who have died and will at that time have a chance to become part of the “restoration of all things”.

That may be the reason why “times” is plural here. In other places Christ combines these two periods of time under one term, calling it “the world to come.” He uses that term in Matthew 12:32 and also in Mark 10:30 which includes the time of the Millennium.

Matthew 12:32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Mark 10:30 But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

At the beginning of the Millennium, the tremendous project of the restoration of all things will begin. Jesus, upon His return, will start the work of reversing the long-standing effects of man’s ruining of the earth, and of the purging effects of God’s righteous wrath upon the earth during the Day of the Lord.  Such will be the Millennium, a time of renovation and restoration of all Creation back to its original dazzling beauty.

Following is a list of the judgments (curses) that God placed on Adam and Eve and have been upon the earth ever since they rebelled in the Garden of Eden:

  • (1) Genesis 3:15  And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. [Satan and his followers will be at war against Eve and her descendants, including the “Seed” that would become Jesus Christ and all who become Jesus’ faithful followers.]
  • (2) Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception… [Painful childbirth for women].
  • (3) Genesis 3:16 …and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. [Resulting in all kinds of marital discord and strife within her relationships].
  • (4) Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; [The soil will be cursed because of sin in the world and growing of food and trying to survive will be a struggle].
  • (5) Genesis 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; [Life will be hard with much trouble and hardships].
  • (6) Genesis 3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread,  and till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. [Life will be laborious all man’s days and physical death and decay will be the fate for all men and women; and if they do not repent at some point in God’s Plan, then they will die the spiritual death as well].

Curses Reversed in the Millennium

First Curse

(1. Genesis 3:15) A main tactic of a deceiver is to make others think that he is more superior in knowledge and power than anyone else and that he knows what is best for the ones he is tryig to deceive.  These kinds of people use this tactic to attempt to get their targets to think the way they think; or to believe what they want them to believe. Just as when Satan presented himself to Eve, the first thing he did was to put doubt in her mind about God followed by blatant lies that refute what God teaches in His Word.

When people believe Satan’s deceptions they reject God’s truth and a type of bitterness becomes embedded within their hearts against God and His laws; just as Satan hates God and hates His laws.

Just as Satan deceived a third of the angels to rebel against God, Satan infuses men with his hate-filled attitude and their minds become antagonistic toward God. The world under Satans influence hates God’s truth and the wicked despise the called-out children of God who teach and exemplify the keeping of God’s commandments and ordinances.

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

One of the first things Christ will do when He returns will be to destroy the beast and the false prophet who are Satan’s puppets on earth, and then Christ is to going to proceed to take the veil of deception from the hearts and minds of all of humanity. They will come to see how deceived they had been all their lives and that God’s ways are truly good and right. The hard hearts that were against God and His law will melt away replaced by a soften hearts that will be receptive to the truth of God, and those who were formally obstinate will become teachable.

Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Hebrews 10:16 This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

David prophecies of this when he prayed that God would send out His light and truth, to let God’s truth lead us to God’s holy hill and to His tabernacles: these things being symbolic of the millennial reign of Christ.

God is going to universally send out His LIGHT and TRUTH to all the nations and the resurrected saints will help Christ bring the light of His truth to the people who live on into the Millennium.

When knowledge of God is restored and all the people are obeying the true God, Creator of heaven and earth, they will not be hurting each other and there will be no more war.

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

When iniquity and pride entered Satan, he wanted to destroy God and take over His throne. He tried to destroy Christ when He was living as a man on earth but utterly failed; and since the time of Adam and Eve, Satan has been trying to destroy all of humanity.  He first uses deception, and when he can influence men to turn away from God and His laws, Satan then fills them with his spirit of hatred and murder. The world has been at war and at enmity against each other ever since Cain killed Abel.

In the Millennium wars will cease and there will be no more violence and murder. Christ will usher in peace and harmony among the nations and all unrepentant war-mongers  and evil-doers will be eliminated. Just as Isaiah tells us, all instruments of war will be converted into useful farm tools. The following verses prophesy of what mankind can look forward to when the curse of “enmity” is abolished.

Isaiah 2:4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

Isaiah 46:9 He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

Psalm 72:3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.

Isaiah 60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.

The Second Curse

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception…

The second curse consists of painful childbirth for women, and the multiplication of sorrow associated with it. But this can also refer to the whole child raising experience for when our children sin and live in rebellion to God’s laws (and especially because of the close bond between a mother and her child) their sin breaks the heart and causes incredible emotional pain [sorrow].

Proverbs 10:1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

Proverbs 15:20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.

Proverbs 17:21 He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.

Because parents will be taught to live God’s way during the Millennium, they in turn, will train their children and in this way the children will grow up to respect God’s law, walk in God’s Word and will no longer bring disgrace to their mothers (and fathers).

If children grow up learning to respect and to please their godly parents and to reverence their Creator, they will no longer be a curse but a wonderful blessing.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 19:18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

Proverbs 23:24 The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him.

23:25 Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.

Psalm 113:9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.

Isaiah 54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the Lord; and great shall be the peace of thy children. 54:14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

Zechariah paints a happy picture of community life with the old and the young together, streets full of children happily playing (not vandalizing or causing trouble).

Zechariah 8:4 Thus saith the Lord of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age. 8:5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

The Third Curse

(3. Genesis 3:16) …and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

The curse pronounced on Eve is about how women would not fare so well in their relationships with their husbands (because of sin on the part of both); it is about a spirit of competition that would be in the marriage between husband and wife and that would bring contention in the marriage relationship resulting in all kinds of marital troubles and strife within families.

The breakdown of families and the perversion of the God-ordained institution of marriage is a blight upon any society.

We all see this everywhere in the numbers of divorces, domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, addictions, and betrayal; and most of us know the great emotional pain and scarring because of what went on in our families.

This misery which is part of this curse, is the consequence of sin and rebellion against God’s holy and righteous relationship laws on the part of both men and women which started with Adam and Eve and what happened between them.

But those in the Millennium will be blessed in their marriages and families for Scripture tells of what it will be like for those who conduct their marriage and families in accordance to God’s righteousness (both men and women); who do things God’s way.

Both husbands and wives, along with their children, will be greatly blessed in their family life when both spouses fear the Lord and they know how to show proper respect and love to each other.

Psalm 128 (a psalm of ascent) paints a picture of family life when men and women are functioning in their proper roles and they have God at the center of their relationships.

Psalm 128:1 Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.  128:2 For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.  128:3 Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.  128:4 Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the Lord.  128:5 The Lord shall bless thee out of Zion: and thou shalt see the good of Jerusalem all the days of thy life.  128:6 Yea, thou shalt see thy children’s children, and peace upon Israel.

Proverbs 5:15 Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. 5:16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. 5:17 Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. 5:18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. 5:19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.

Ecclesiastes 9:9 Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.

The Fourth Curse

(4. Genesis 3:17) And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

God’s judgment after Adam and Eve rebelled would be that from then on the ground would be cursed because of sin in the world. The growing of food and trying to survive off the land would be a struggle and life generally would be very hard because of all the obstacles. Weather conditions, lack of rain, hail storms, pestilence, insects, blights, wars, would be common and would make growing of crops very difficult and often impossible. Men and women would experience many sorrows from lack of food and from the diseases that come from malnutrition and famine.

But when the people are obeying God in all areas of their lives and working the land in the way that God has shown it is to be done (including the land rests and jubilees) such as they will be doing in the Millennium, the land will begin to produce abundantly.

The earthquakes and the other plaques that happen during the tribulation will possibly restructure the land, flatten mountains, and will break open under water springs. God will cause the weather to cooperate to produce abundant crops.

It has been estimated that not more than 10 percent of the earth’s surface is cultivatable or arable land. But because of the blessings bestowed on the Israelitish nations in these latter days (Genesis 49:1-28; Deuteronomy 33 – whole chapter) the modern western peoples of the world have had plenty of the earth’s resources, and we have, for the most part, not known wide-spread hunger and starvation with sparse food production like most of the other nations. And with our over-abundance our countries have helped to reduce famine and hunger in the poorer nations. But most countries in the past six-thousand years have been poor, underdeveloped; with large swaths of arid desert areas or mountainous terrains that cannot produce food. The people of the world throughout history have suffered much from the curse of the ground placed on Adam and his prodigy because of sin.

In our modern times the curse is spreading even more so for much of the food production is now tainted and is made unhealthy because of greedy practices that render food disease-producing rather than health-enhancing.

Because of lack of rain even in the prosperous nations, water is becoming more scarce, plus our governmental agencies demand that water be infused with fluoride and chlorine; and recently even more chemicals are being added to city water supplies.

God gives many promises in His Word that someday the whole earth will become productive again and “blossom like a rose”. Under Christ’s reign He will bring solutions to all the food and water problems we currently have. He will reverse the curse on the land and make it possible for the ground to produce richly again.

Isaiah 35:1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

Isaiah 32:15 Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest.

In the Millennium, the deserts will become green and fertile for growing gardens, orchards and vineyards. The wastelands will become lush farmlands and there will be no more hunger or little children starving. Those who knew want and hunger all their lives, or those coming out of the tribulation, will rejoice at what they see in the Kingdom happening and they will sing for joy.

Isaiah 35:6 Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert. 35:7 And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water: in the habitation of dragons [abode of jackals], where each lay, shall be grass with reeds and rushes.

God through Isaiah tells us what He is going to do to help all humanity to be agriculturally productive and live in verdant well-watered lands. The people will have plenty of pure life-giving water and will never have to thirst again because of unsanitary drinking conditions or even from a total lack of water.

Isaiah 41:15 Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff. 41:16 Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the Lord, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel. 41:17 When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. 41:18 I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water. 41:19 I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together: 41:20 That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the Lord hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it.

Many other Scriptures tell of this wonderful time of plenty: with good food, pure water, bubbling springs and brooks, flowing fountains, the right amount of rain in due season, green verdant valleys, all kinds of fruit-bearing trees everywhere full of their luscious fruits.

How the people will rejoice for what the Lord has done! when He establishes His Kingdom over all the earth and brings a blessed relief from the conditions of what most of mankind have experienced these past six-thousand years of living under the curse of the ground.

Leviticus 26:4 Then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

Psalm 65:9 Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it. 65:10 Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof. 65:11 Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness. 65:12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side. 65:13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing. Psalm 68:8 Thou, O God, didst send a plentiful rain, whereby thou didst confirm thine inheritance, when it was weary.

Psalm 72:16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.

Psalm 104:13 He watereth the hills from his chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works.

Psalm 107:35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into water springs.

Isaiah 35:10 And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

Isaiah 61:3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.

Isaiah 61:9 And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the Lord hath blessed.

61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.

61:11 For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.

And there will be unimaginable beauty over all the planet.

Isaiah 4:2 In that day shall the branch of the Lord be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

Isaiah 62:1 For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. 62:2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall name.

62:3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. 62:4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.

62:5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. 62:6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the Lord, keep not silence,  62:7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.

62:8 The Lord hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured: 62:9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the Lord; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness.

The blessings of Deuteronomy 28:1-14 will finally come to fruition.

Deuteronomy 28:4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep. 28:5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store

Deuteronomy 28:10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the Lord; and they shall be afraid of thee. 28:11 And the Lord shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers to give thee. 28:12 The Lord shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

At this point, we who are still living in this present evil age can only imagine such a fabulous world of beauty, richness, greenery, flowing fountains, bubbling brooks, pristine lakes and rivers, trees full of succulent fruits, majestic fields with waves and waves of wheat and vegetable plants growing in full abundance without the aid of chemicals and pesticides.

Yes, the whole world will want to rejoice and sing for pure joy that the curse of the ground is now reversed and the thorns and thistles are no more!

Jeremiah 31:12 Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion, and shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord, for wheat, and for wine, and for oil, and for the young of the flock and of the herd: and their soul shall be as a watered garden; and they shall not sorrow any more at all.

Malachi 3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

Fifth Curse

(5. Genesis 3:18) Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

As a direct result of the the ground being cursed, it will bring forth thorns and thistles. This can also symbolically mean that because of the curse, the earth will be a place of extreme hardship and trials that will hound men and women throughout their lives in this present evil world until they return to the ground.

During the six-thousand years of man’s rule under Satan, life will be hard/laborious all man’s days.

Job 5:7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Job 7:1 is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling?

Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

Ecclesiastes 2:23 For all his days are sorrows, and his travail grief; yea, his heart taketh not rest in the night. This is also vanity.

Sixth Curse

(6. Genesis 3:19) In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread,  and till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

Because of sin that was introduced into the world by our first parents physical death will be the fate for all men and women; and if they do not repent at some point in God’s Plan then they will die the spiritual death as well.

But because Christ came to die and pay the penalty for man’s sin, man can be forgiven of his sins and of his rebellion against God and His way of life that he has learned from birth.

If men repent and accept the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for their sins and then do the will of the Father thereafter, they will be brought back to life; either in the resurrection of the just or later in the Fall Main Harvest of Humanity.

This is alluded to in the judgment given to the serpent in Genesis 3:15; that God would send the Messiah that would be wounded (by Satan) for our transgressions.  But this same Messiah would ultimately crush Satan’s head, and this curse of death would be reversed in the latter days through the resurrection.

Paul devotes a whole chapter to the discussion about what the resurrection will be like.

1st Corinthians 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming. 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

1st Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.1st Corinthians 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

God through His prophet Hosea, sums up His message to Israel in a loving admonition to RETURN to the Lord and to His Law; and if they do, God will raise them up and they will live in His sight; this is a promise of eternal LIFE that God will grant to those who do repent and commit to live His ways. And then God is going to tremendously bless them with not just life, but an abundace of life and of pleasures forevermore!

Hosea 6:1 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up. 6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. 6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

Hosea 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

Psalm 16:8 I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 16:9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope. 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 16:11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

In the Book of Isaiah, we are also given a promise of the salvation that is coming, and that the Lord will save us from the curse of death if we patiently wait for Him and endure while faithfully living according to His will.

Isaiah 25:9 And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.

Many Scriptures remind us of our glorious future as spirit beings for those who are called and are being prepared now in this life. Even if we should die the physical death, the curse of death is abolished for those who live and die in Christ for they shall be resurrected to eternal life.

1st Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Daniel 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

In Summary

Although these curses may seem harsh and foreboding, they will bring about much good, for by them most of mankind will have learned valuable lessons when all is said and done.

The same Genesis 3:15-17 passage that pronounces the curses on the serpent and on mankind contains a promise of grace and redemption through the Messiah that would come to save His people, the people that He has made.

Genesis 3:15 is often referred to as the “First Gospel” spoken of in Scripture, for in addressing the serpent (Satan), God gives His judgment upon him which has a PROMISE that He would provide a Savior that would come and die for our sins, and that that same Savior would crush Satan and his work here on earth; ultimately Satan and his works are going to be destroyed forever in the Lake of Fire. (Revelation 20:10, Malachi 4:1-3)

Paul in his letter to the Hebrews speaks of God’s promise of a REST for the people of God. Paul admonishes the brethren to be sure that they remain steadfast and to do all that will bring them into that rest and not forfeit this opportunity as the ancient children of Israel did who refused to go into the Promised Land when they rebelled against God in the wilderness.

We too (the Israel of God), are living in a spiritual wilderness and we are looking forward to the time when Satan and the curses that came as a result of worshiping him in lieu of our Creator….will be things of the past.

We are to look to Jesus and stay faithful to Him until the very end of our lives; if we do, we will be in the Kingdom with Him partaking of all the wonderful blessings that will come as a result of Christ’s reign on earth.

Hebrews 3:1 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;  3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house. 3:3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.

3:4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God. 3:5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after; 3:6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.

3:7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, 3:8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: 3:9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.3:10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. 3:11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)

3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.  3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; 3:15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

More promises of the coming Millennium Rest:

Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Revelation 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

We are now nearing the end of Satan’s allotted time of dominion and the six millennial days when he is allowed to do his work. But after that, the coming seventh millennial day shall be the Sabbath of the Lord. That day belongs to God and Satan will no longer be able to do his work of deceiving and destroying, for he will be chained and thrown into a bottomless abyss; restrained for a thousand years (Revelation 20:1-3).

Satan will not be allowed to deceive the world nor do his diabolical works during the Millennium. The world will be at rest, it will be the REST of God’s doing and nobody else’s.  And mankind will rest from the works of Satan as well.

Isaiah 65:16 That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.

As we observe the Days of Unleavened Bread this week, we are reminded of God’s Great Plan of Salvation which these days depict and forshawdow.  The vision of what God has in future store for His faithful people fills us withmuch HOPE  and we too can rejoice and sing just as the ancient Israelites did as they journeyed to the Mountain of God to keep the festivals.   Psalm 126  is a song of ascents that was sung as the Israelites journeyed to keep the Feasts and also as the Levitical priests ascended the steps at the Temple.  We as the modern day Spiritual Israelites can also sing this psalm as we anticipate the blessings that Christ will bring to this earth when He brings all people out of a world taken captive by Satan and turns back the curses placed on mankind when the first couple rebelled against their Maker.

Psalm 126:1 When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream.  126:2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The Lord hath done great things for them.  126:3 The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. 126:4 Turn again our captivity, O Lord, as the streams in the south. 126:5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.  126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

Have a wonderful Feast, everyone!

Constance

~ Feature Scriptures ~
Isaiah 35:1-2
The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them;
and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.

It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon,

They shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
