2 Peter 2
Peter warns us as Paul, Jesus and Jude also warn us that in this end time the called out spiritual Ekklesia will be full of false teachers who lie, teaching the brethren to follow themselves as idols of men and denying the authority of Christ and the Word of God, by rejecting any zeal to keep the whole Word of God.
They falsely present themselves as God’s ministers saying “follow me;” instead of saying “zealously follow the whole Word of God!”
2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them [Brethren, this is in TODAY’S brotherhood as many elders and leaders deny God’s authority by refusing any zeal to keep God’s Word without compromise, while they pay lip service to God to deceive the brethren!], and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
Yes, Paul spoke the truth when he prophesied that there would be a “great falling away” from true godliness (2 Thess 2:3), in the end time.
Today, because sound doctrine has NOT been taught, MANY false teachers have crept into the Ekklesia and very MANY brethren have fallen away from the sound doctrine of the whole Word of God.
Some false teachers even teach the nonsense that the worldly are fallen away from what they were never a part of, in order to propagate the lie which is contrary to God’s many warnings, that the Ekklesia cannot fall away. Why? So they can lead the Ekklesia even further away from God; speaking lies in the name of truth and bringing wickedness in the name of spiritual growth.
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
2 Peter 2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
Isn’t that the truth? Isn’t that exactly what has happened in this latter day? That the truth of God is evil spoken of by VERY MANY because of the many false teachers who have taken over in the Ekklesia? leading many astray today, so that there is an idolatrous zeal for human leaders and corporations, as they substitute their false traditions for the Word of God and do what THEY think is right instead of doing what God SAYS is right.
Is this not exactly what the Abomination of Daniel does? Substituting his traditions for the Word of God?
2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned [false and deceitful teachings] words make merchandise of you [deceive the brethren]: whose judgment [the judgment and destruction of these wicked church leaders is now almost at hand] now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.
Any leader or elder who justifies sin and even a hint of tolerating or compromising with sin; or who rejects scripture, or tries to twist it to justify their own traditions: IS A FALSE TEACHER and is a A FALSE PROPHET!
2:4 For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2:6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;
God calls the faithful out of the land so that he can correct the wicked.
2:7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation [conduct] of the wicked: 2:8 (For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)
God knows how to deliver those who love him enough to keep his Word with passion, and he knows how to correct the wicked; and if they remain unrepentant God will utterly destroy them in the fire of damnation.
2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:
Those who rail the most about government, mean that the brethren should follow themselves; are the same people who despise the authority of the whole Word of God. They teach men to follow themselves as they rebuke any zeal to live by every Word of God. They are presumptuous deceivers, teaching for doctrine their own false traditions and human imaginations.
2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
What is a “dignity” in God’s eyes? Someone who is zealous for God and live by every Word of God! We are commanded to shine the light of God’s Word on the sins of men and to reprove all sin, warning them to sincerely repent.
To speak evil of dignities is to condemn those who ARE doing the will of God and zealously keeping the whole Word of God.
The faithful godly angels set an example for us when they refused to vent their personal anger at the evil ones and left such judgment to God’s Word. Even so, we must not lose our temper with those who persecute the godly, but must warn them to keep the whole Word of God; for it is God’s Word that will judge them and not any outbursts of temper.
2:11 Whereas [the faithful godly angels], which are greater in power and might, bring not railing [personally angry] accusation against them before the Lord.
The wicked men who have infiltrated the Ekklesia and taken over nearly all the COG groups, and are leading so many away from any zeal to keep the whole Word of God and to test us are not converted, being carnally worldly minded and not spiritually minded to live by every Word of God. It was ordained from the most ancient times that God would allow evil seducers to test his people.
Jude 1:3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. 1:4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying [by rejecting the authority of the whole Word of God] the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
The wicked deceivers who now lead the vast majority of today’s Ekklesia; rejecting the truth and cleaving to past errors and false traditions, while demanding organizational loyalty and loyalty to idols of men in place of any zeal and loyalty for God and the whole Word of God; will perish in their own sins for they will not repent. Those who follow them as idols of men and turn away from faithfulness to live by every Word of God will fall into great tribulation with them.
2 Peter 2:12 But these, as natural brute beasts, made to be taken and destroyed, speak evil of the things that they understand not; and shall utterly perish in their own corruption; 2:13 And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you;
These evil leaders and elders make a pretense of godliness by paying lip service to the Sabbath and the Feasts of God; while they lead people astray into polluting Sabbaths and Feasts.
Today the Ekklesia have been led astray to think of the words of men as greater than the Word of God and are full of spiritual adultery; following idols of men, corporate idols and idols of past false teachings, while neither hungering nor thirsting after the truth and having a zeal to exalt men above following our LORD and the diligently keeping of every Word of God.
These wicked men have deceived the spiritually weak who have not been grounded on the sound doctrine of the Word of God. They have led very many brethren to fall away from any zeal for godliness, doing so for reward like Balaam did. Teaching falsely for a pay cheque and a personal following.
They like Balaam shall be rebuked by Christ for their love of money and willingness to bring a curse on the brethren by leading them into sin for wages.
2:14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; 2:16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
Balaam was willing to sell his blessings and curses for money as very many COG leaders, elders and teachers do today.
These deceivers prophesied from old, being allowed to test the brethren of the called out.
Such deceivers are sons of wickedness, lacking the Light of God’s Spirit, and are consigned to total everlasting destruction unless they sincerely repent.
2:17 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
These deceivers allure the weak through temptation to compromise with worldliness, seeking to lead the brethren away from any zeal to keep the whole Word of God. They call the Sabbath and High Days holy and then refuse to keep them holy, as they exalt themselves as moral authorities [just like the pope] above the whole Word of God
2:18 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity [false empty words that lead to destruction], they allure through the lusts of the flesh [we buy in restaurants on Sabbaths breaking God’s commandments and polluting the Sabbaths; FOR OUR OWN PLEASURE], through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
The deceivers who are now leading most of the church of God groups, promise protection from tribulation and promise spiritual salvation, as they lead the brethren to their destruction.
God is allowing this to TEST our faithfulness to Him alone. Will we follow God: ALL THE WAY? Or will we follow men away from any zeal to keep the whole Word of God?
2:19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
If the called out who have sincerely repented of all sin, are deceived into again being entrapped into the sin of idolatry and spiritual adultery; if we fall for their deception we are in a worse state then before; for now we are again sinners and we are enslaved by idols of men as well.
When we have been called to God and have accepted that call, and then we later turn away from God; we are much worse off than if we had never been called at all, for we have had our chance and failed, while the sinner still has his opportunity before him.
2:20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
If we return to the filth that God has delivered us out of, to turn away from keeping the whole Word of God and back into the filth of sin and idolizing men and their false traditions; we are like a dog returning to its vomit.
2:22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
There has been a great falling away of the people of God in fulfillment of prophecy, for God knew what would come in the last days.
God’s called out to Christ have been enticed by deceitful men to exalt themselves and their traditions above the Word of God and now we are coming to the climax of this falling away, in fulfillment of the words of Jude, the warnings of Paul to the Thessalonians and the warnings of Jesus Christ in Matthew 24.
