The Eternal’s controversy with the nations of today
Micah 6:1 Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains[governments, nations], and let the hills [small nations and provinces] hear thy voice.
6:2 Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD’s controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.
The Eternal will plead with his people by strong correction, before all the governments and peoples of the earth.
God asks us, why we have turned aside from him to follow idols?
6:3 O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me.
6:4 For I brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of servants [bondage, servitude]; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
6:5 O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him [Balaam answered Balak that God had blessed Israel and would not curse them] from Shittim unto Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.
God reveals his good works and blessings towards his people and then asks for only faithfulness to his commandments which are for our own good in return.
God wants humility, justice and mercy without sin rather than sacrifice for sin. God wants us to do no sin at all so that sacrifice for sin is no longer needed!
6:6 Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?
6:7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
6:9 The LORD’s voice crieth unto the city, and the man of wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.
The warnings have gone out; who will take them to heart and turn his face to the Eternal in true wholehearted repentance and zeal for his statutes and commandments? If we will not repent now; then let us hear and respond to the rod of God’s loving correction positively with sincere repentance, that the spirit may be saved.
If we will yet remain wicked and selfish to deceive and defraud, we shall surely be afflicted.
6:10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure that is abominable?
6:11 Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?
6:12 For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth.
Will God hold those who cheat and steal, who are violent and seek personal advantage; guiltless?
Here is the curse upon the wicked who commit idolatry exalting idols and traditions of men above the Word of God and persecuting those who are zealous to live by EVERY WORD of God.
God will smite and correct us until we do wholeheartedly repent.
6:13 Therefore also will I make thee sick in smiting thee, in making thee desolate because of thy sins.
6:14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down shall be in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
6:15 Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.
Like our forefathers, our nations are full of idolatry and sin; and like our forefathers of the priesthood of Aaron who led the people astray, so are most leaders and elders of the called out Ekklesia today. For they teach the brethren to follow idols of men and to turn aside from any zeal to live by the whole Word of God.
6:16 For the statutes of Omri [idolatry] are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab[idolatry and adultery], and ye [the spiritual; leaders and elders of the Ekklesia today] walk in their counsels [to do wickedness and provoke the Eternal]; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
Those who bow to the idols of men, organizations and false traditions, and commit the same sins as ancient Samaria; will not be judged guiltless.
God speaks through Micah lamenting that there is nothing to harvest. This an allegory that there are no longer any large clusters of righteous godly people remaining in the called out Ekklesia; only scattered individuals here and there. God says that the field has no barley to harvest, only a grain here and a handful there, who are zealous to live by EVERY WORD of God.
Micah 7:1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have [when someone else has taken the harvest] gathered the summer fruits, as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat: my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
The true pillars of God are; one here and another there, and there are no big clusters of first fruits, for the majority have fallen away into idolizing men and false traditions and organizations above the Word of God and will not turn away from their errors.
God speaks in a generality here because of the extremely rarity of zealous godly persons; even in the spiritually called out.
7:2 The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is none upright among men [except for the extremely rare faithful individual]: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net.
7:3 That they may do evil with both hands earnestly, the prince asketh, and the judge asketh for a reward; and the great man, he uttereth his mischievous desire: so they wrap it up.
Our leaders take bribes and seek reward and personal advantage, respecting persons in their judgments and exalting their own ways and false traditions over the commandments of God.
7:4 The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge: the day of thy watchmen and thy visitation cometh; now shall be their perplexity.
The day of our calamity is at hand; who takes it to heart and turns to their God?
7:5 Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide [an elder]: keep the doors of thy mouth from her that lieth in thy bosom.
Faithfulness to and zeal for God, will bring the enmity of the people and of the COG brethren. Today the COG groups will tolerate just about any sin, but they will not tolerate a zeal to wholeheartedly live by every Word of God as Christ commanded, Mat 4:4.
This prophecy was quoted by Christ
Micah 7:6 For the son dishonoureth the father, the daughter riseth up against her mother, the daughter in law against her mother in law; a man’s enemies are the men of his own house.
Few can be trusted which causes the godly to draw even closer to God!
7:7 Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
I will seek the Eternal all my days; and my feet shall not depart from his ways.
The attitude of repentance that is acceptable to God. Godly people are not afraid of anything, not even death itself; for they KNOW that God will deliver them!
7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
Let us accept the correction of our Father
7:9 I will bear the indignation of the LORD, because I have sinned against him, until he plead my cause, and execute judgment for me: he will bring me forth to the light, and I shall behold his righteousness.
Those who despise the wholeheartedly zealous for God today, shall be corrected and shall come to understand and repent of that attitude
7:10 Then she that is mine enemy shall see it, and shame shall cover her which said unto me, Where is the LORD thy God? mine eyes shall behold her: now shall she be trodden down as the mire of the streets.
God will deliver those who he loves after he has corrected their errors and they have returned unto him. His correction is a manifestation of his great love in that he desired to save us from our wickedness by humbling us that we might turn to him and remain faithful for eternity.
When Messiah the Christ comes he shall build Jerusalem and the millennial Temple, and all nations shall flow unto Him.
7:11 In the day that thy walls are to be built, in that day shall the decree [of destruction] be far removed.
7:12 In that day also he shall come even to thee from Assyria, and from the fortified cities, and from the fortress even to the river, and from sea to sea, and from mountain to mountain.
All nations from the Assyrians [Germans] to the Egyptians, shall turn to the Eternal at that time.
7:13 Notwithstanding the land shall be desolate [shall be desolated for the 42 month tribulation to correct us from our wickedness] because of them that dwell therein, for the [wicked] fruit of their doings.
Our land shall be desolate because of our own evil; until the time that we honestly repent and turn from our wicked ways. When those who are desolate sincerely repent and turn to god they shall be delivered.
7:14 Feed [correct] thy people with thy rod, the flock of thine heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in [the fruitful lands of] Bashan [the Golan area] and Gilead [east of Galilee], as in the days of old.
When Messiah the Christ comes he will deliver with mighty deeds
7:15 According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I shew unto him marvellous things.
As the days of deliverance from Egypt; Messiah deliver his people and the nations shall fear dreadfully and seek out the Eternal to be their God.
7:16 The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might [of God and Israel]: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf [in shock that those who had been crushed are delivered and risen back up by the might of God] .
7:17 They shall lick the dust like a serpent, they shall move out of their holes like worms of the earth: they shall be afraid of the LORD our God, and shall fear because of thee.
The nations of the world shall be astonished at the deliverance of the Eternal when Christ comes with his saints to execute judgment and to deliver humanity from Satan.
After our correction we will be humbled and repent to follow the LORD our DELIVERER! Then He shall forgive all our wickedness in his tender loving mercy!
May God speed that day!
7:18 Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.
7:19 He will turn again, he will have compassion upon us; he will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.
7:20 Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.
