The law of vows. remember that God the Father is the Head of Christ and that Christ is the Head and Husband of the chosen called out (1 Cor 11:3).
The law of vows, in its spiritual sense, is a law of deliverance from all sin. This law says that God the Father and Jesus Christ WILL KEEP their solemn promises to those zealously faithful to live by every Word of God.
This law of vows also permits Jesus Christ to annul all of his wife’s [our own] previous vows made to others; including past vows to false religions, and such wickedness as the Masonic vows. This law also permits God as our Father to annul our vows.
This law also means that we must be absolutely faithful to our baptismal commitment [vow] of espousal to marriage with Jesus Christ!
If we compromise with the Word of God to follow any person other than our espoused Husband, we are breaking our vow of espousal to be absolutely faithful to, and to follow our espoused spirit Husband Jesus Christ above all others.
In the physical sense; if we divorce the physical spouse that we vowed to be faithful to for life; we are breaking our vow made before and in the presence of God!
Any person who divorces their spouse in the faith, and marries another, is not worthy of their calling and should be immediately ejected from the assembly; yet the Ekklesia of today allows divorce almost at will and even has elders living in this commandment breaking condition of adultery of divorce and remarriage sin. See the article on Divorce and Remarriage.
By equating any loyalty to men, or organizations, or friends, or physical family; with loyalty to our espoused Husband Jesus Christ; we are breaking our baptismal commitment [marriage vow] and are committing spiritual adultery.
Numbers 30:1 And Moses spake unto the heads of the tribes concerning the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded. 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.
30:3 If a woman also vow a vow unto the LORD, and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth; 30:4 And her father hear her vow, and her bond wherewith she hath bound her soul, and her father shall hold his peace at her; then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she hath bound her soul shall stand.
When we sincerely repent and commit to follow the Lamb of God withersoever he goeth and to sin no more; all our vows and promises to follow others contrary to any part of the Word of God, will be annulled by Jesus Christ the Husband of our baptismal espousal and by God our Father in heaven. Then the sacrifice of Christ will be applied to us and wash us clean from all such uncleanness and evil and we shall be accounted spiritual virgins and fit to be a part of the collective bride; as long as we remain completely faithful to Christ and God the Father, and are zealous to learn and Keep the Word of God!
There are those who believe that they are bound by the blood curdling vows of masonry to Lucifer, and there are others who believe they are bound by vows to other religions and groups. Don’t you believe it! Jesus Christ is conqueror of the Pharaoh of this world, and liberates us from all bondage; if we will turn to him in sincere repentance! Satan has NO power over anyone when Christ lifts his strong right arm to deliver us!
30:5 But if her father disallow her in the day that he heareth; not any of her vows, or of her bonds wherewith she hath bound her soul, shall stand: and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.
If God the Father or our Husband approves any vow and does not annul it then the vow stands; but if they hear it and annul it; the vow will not stand. All pagan vows made before conversion are annulled by God the Father upon our repentance and conversion; but all vows made to God from conversion onward must be kept.
30:6 And if she had at all an husband, when she vowed, or uttered ought out of her lips, wherewith she bound her soul; 30:7 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her in the day that he heard it: then her vows shall stand, and her bonds wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
30:8 But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it; then he shall make her vow which she vowed, and that which she uttered with her lips, wherewith she bound her soul, of none effect: and the LORD shall forgive her.
In the physical sense the woman who has no authority over her must keep all her vows, but when we are espoused to Jesus Christ, he becomes an authority over us and annuls all our past foolish vows
30:9 But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her.
30:10 And if she vowed in her husband’s house, or bound her soul by a bond with an oath; 30:11 And her husband heard it, and held his peace at her, and disallowed her not: then all her vows shall stand, and every bond wherewith she bound her soul shall stand.
30:12 But if her husband hath utterly made them void on the day he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows, or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand: her husband hath made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.
30:13 Every vow, and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.
30:14 But if her husband altogether hold his peace at her from day to day; then he establisheth all her vows, or all her bonds, which are upon her: he confirmeth them, because he held his peace at her in the day that he heard them.
If the husband frees his wife or daughter from her vows, he bears the responsibility for doing so. Jesus Christ has borne the iniquity of our evil vows through his atoning sacrifice, so that we may come to him. If we remain totally faithful to our vow of espousal to him at baptism to live by every Word of God and to do all that he requires all our sincerely repented past sins including foolish vows are wiped clean.
30:15 But if he shall any ways make them void after that he hath heard them; then he shall bear her iniquity.
30:16 These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.
In Numbers 25:16 Jesus Christ commands Moses to attack the Midianites; the narrative then turns to other issues in Numbers 26-30 and is now returning to the war between Israel and the Midianites.
Numbers 31:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 31:2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people. 31:3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.
Moses calls for a thousand from each tribe except Levi, to go up to fight Midian for enticing Israel into idolatry and fornication on the advice of Balaam. This whole situation is an allegory that we must fight all temptation and enticement to sin with the powerful irresistible force of Jesus Christ the Deliverer going before us to give us victory if we remain steadfast.
31:4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war. 31:5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
The twelve thousand, with Phinehas the priest [who had stayed the plague in Israel by his zeal against the idolatry of Baalpeor and fornication with Midian] and the silver trumpets, with the God who later gave up his Godhood to become flesh as Jesus Christ in the midst of the army went forward to make war. Even so, we are to go forward to make war against all sin and compromise with the Word of God, and against the committing of spiritual idolatry by exalting any man or organizations above the Word of God!
31:6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
Physical Israel defeated Midian by the power of God with them; demonstrating that spiritually we can have victory over all sin through Jesus Christ dwelling in us by his Spirit; doing in us what he has always done; zealously living by every Word of God the Father in heaven.
Dear brethren, how sad it is that we choose to follow our idols of men and we choose to compromise or to even reject much of the Word of God for our own false traditions.
How very sad that there is virtually no zeal to follow the Lamb of God, our own espoused Husband withersoever he goeth in the Ekklesia today. For it is HE who can give the victory over the bondage of Satan the present god king of this world and the forces of sin;
Christ is Strong, he is Mighty, he is Worthy to be Followed and Praised! and he will NEVER compromise with or overlook any sin, or fail to rebuke and destroy unrepentant sinners.
It is to their SHAME, that so many have forgotten the Might of our Lord and turned away to a false powerless Christ; welcoming him in name only while denying his authority and power over us binding to live by every Word of God.
2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power [authority] thereof: from such turn away.
Christ gave them victory over Midian as an example that he also gives victory over all sin to those who follow him. When we are tempted by sin to turn away from zeal for the Word of God: We must reject these temptations and run to the Strong Refuge of our Husband, to seek his Powerful Deliverance, and to rededicate ourselves to a passionate zeal for God’s Word and Will!
Numbers 31:7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males. 31:8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
The men of Israel still desired the women of Midian who had led them into sin and idolatry which brought the plagues upon Israel.
31:9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods. 31:10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire. 31:11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts. 31:12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.
Moses rebuked the army for the sin of sparing the women of Midian; For Jesus Christ had commanded them to destroy Midian lest they be again led astray by the women of Midian. Does this sound like a wimpy Christ who paid for our sins in advance so that we need not depart from sin, only mouth the words “I repent” and repent in name only? This is an instruction for us, that we should not involve ourselves in false religions and false doctrines nor take unconverted mates.
Why do you think that the Unitarian One God Movement is so prevalent in the Ekklesia today? Its purpose is to deny that Jesus Christ inspired the whole Word of God and destroyed the wicked, in order to introduce a false Christ who will tolerate sin. Read the words of Jude; these wicked men were prophesied of long ago.
31:13 And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp. 31:14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
Moses rebuked the army for saving the women who had been the guilty party in leading them into fornication/adultery and idolatry! It was their lust for these very women which had been their downfall!
Our desire for the pleasures of worldliness, like buying in restaurants on God’s Holy Sabbath and Holy Days is also leading us to our destruction.
31:15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive? 31:16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
Moses commands to kill every mature woman [who would lead them into idolatry] and to leave only the very young females alive.
31:17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. 31:18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him [at that time and in that society those under about 10-12 years old], keep alive for yourselves.
Moses then commands the soldiers to purify themselves from the uncleanness of the dead on the third and seventh days and then to return into the camp on the Eighth Day as the law of the Red Heifer requires.
31:19 And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day. 31:20 And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats’ hair, and all things made of wood.
As for the metal only, it was passed through the fire and then sprinkled with the water of the Red Heifer to be purified, and all the other spoil that cannot survive the fire was washed in water and sprinkled with the water of the Red Heifer.
31:21 And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses; 31:22 Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead, 31:23 Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water. 31:24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
The dividing of the spoil as commanded by God. Moses, Eleazar and the leaders were to assess the spoil and to divide it exactly as God commanded.
31:25 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 31:26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
Those who had defeated the enemy and taken the spoil were to have one half. The congregation are to have the other half.
31:27 And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
An offering is to be given by the men who fought the battle, because of the great victory and spoil given to them. The tribute was to be one part out of each five hundred parts of the spoil.
31:28 And levy a tribute unto the Lord of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep: 31:29 Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.
The whole congregation that did not go to the battle must then give one part out of each fifty parts of the spoil that they received. The men going to battle being required to give less because they followed Christ in faith and hazarded their lives; while the congregation remained in the camp.
31:30 And of the children of Israel’s half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD. 31:31 And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses. 31:32 And the [total spoil] booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep [675,000], 31:33 And threescore and twelve thousand beeves [72,000], 31:34 And threescore and one thousand asses [61,000], 31:35 And thirty and two thousand persons in all [32,000 female children], of women that had not known man by lying with him.
31:36 And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep [337,500]: 31:37 And the LORD’s tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen . 31:38 And the beeves were thirty and six thousand [36,000 cattle]; of which the LORD’s tribute was threescore and twelve . 31:39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred [30,500]; of which the LORD’s tribute was threescore and one . 31:40 And the persons were sixteen thousand [16,000 female children]; of which the LORD’s tribute was thirty and two persons .
31:41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD’s heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
31:42 And of the children of Israel’s half, which Moses divided from the men that warred, 31:43 (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep [337,500], 31:44 And thirty and six thousand beeves [36,000], 31:45 And thirty thousand asses and five hundred [30,500], 31:46 And sixteen thousand persons; [16,000] ) 31:47 Even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
Not one Israelite man of war was killed in the battle, because the LORD went before them. This is a lesson for us that we are to live by every Word of God and run to our Deliverer trusting in him in times of trouble.
31:48 And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses: 31:49 And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
Because not a life was lost, the army chose to give some of the jewels, and precious metals as an additional special Thank Offering for their deliverance.
31:50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD. 31:51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels. 31:52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels [16,750 shekels weight] .
31:53 (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.) 31:54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
